Albums of the 2000s
Simon 14th December 2009
I know these sorts of things are always incredibly subjective, but here are the albums from the last decade that meant something to me…
A pack of Caramel Crowns to the person who can name the most discs. I’ll match that packet, plus a copy of the first season of AFI award-winning East West 101 to the first person who can name all of the albums and their artists.

Love it! Two Rammstein’s… I had better get you the latest album before the end of the year…

It’s not subjective if they mean something to you. That’s just you saying they mean something, if anything you’ve compiled an objective list.
Get it right.
I like it as a montage of cover art – which album is second from the left on the top row? It reminds me of the old blue note record covers.

Queens of the Stoneage “Rated R” to answer the question above. Like I said on facebook, great list Simon – I imagine a bitch to complile since I have taken note that they are all in order of release. A nod to some under-rated albums – I personally thought Audioslaves first album was fantastic and “One By One” is my favourite Foo Fighters release. I’m now asking myself if the Gorillaz disc should have been included in my own list as well??

Ok, Chris, it’s personally objective then
Yes, they are in order of release. Probably the only time I’ve properly used spreadsheet software since early high school. And Adam, I definitely gave a nod to some great under-rated albums. I think there were far too many strange reviews by music critics this decade, particularly in the alt-rock scene. Your list is great too. I think I’m going to spend the next decade catching up on what I missed from this one (and many others before)
And while Rated R musically speaking couldn’t be further from the Blue Note records, the album two to the right is Wynton Marsalis’ The Marciac Suite (That should get you closer to those Caramel Crowns!). Any of his albums are worth a listen. I don’t have a favourite, but that’s the one I was listening to around the time it came out.
