One year on…

It’s been a whole fat year since simantic.net was created. Alongside the website was this very blog, which originally began in December 2006 as my then wordpress.com blog.

Thank you especially to Tristan K, who has been helping me the last few days to transfer the entire contents of the site to a new server. Thanks also to my trusty partners in crime (in addition to Tris): Charles, Chris and Sarah for your contributions over the year, as well as all the commenters and visitors to the site.

There have been some top articles by all involved in this blog. I hope you’ve enjoyed them as much as I have. So, what better time than ever to have a browse back through the archives. Go on, I dare you.

Simantic Fun Facts:
• The first blog post at this domain was about designer Kari Piippo.
• Charles’ first post was on Trivium. He also wins the award for most post-modern blog graphic.
• Chris currently holds the title for longest post title.
• Sarah somehow broke the flash-based title system on the site with her first post, forcing all post titles to change their fonts to regular text (and it’s worked out for the better!)
• Tristan is — as far as I know — the only author to post on this blog from outside the site… on two occasions!
