Really nice work. And to think that they’re literally around the corner, on Cambridge Street. Might have to check ‘em out.

I’m not going to go into great detail about the newly released Final Cut Studio 2. But there is a new addition to the (post) production suite, a colour grading application appropriately called Color. This release will no doubt strengthen Apple’s credibility in the film and media industries and prove that they truly are competition for companies like Avid and Adobe. On top of this, Apple has announced new cross-platform server software specific to managing Final Cut Studio workflows. Apple has also said that — due to development of the iPhone — Leopard (Mac OS X, 10.5) has been pushed back to be shipped in October… dammit!
In other tech news, Adobe will release Creative Suite 3 today in the US, and in Australia it seems to be within the month. Microsoft has a minor update for their most backwards piece of software, Outlook 2007, as well as unveiling Silverlight (formerly WPF/E or whatever the fuck it was called), to compete with the upcoming Adobe Media Player (Flash and Apollo platforms). Speaking of Apollo, the Scoble Show site has some new vids with the people who made Apollo and CS3. And Engadget and Gizmodo have stuff about the other stuff I was talking about.
